Tokivske granite deposit
Ukraine is home to the largest granite reserves
Ukraine has one of the world's largest reserves of granite, which is formed as a result of magma solidification in the earth's interior. The area of granite deposits can reach several thousand square kilometres. They are found in underground formations as batholiths. Due to its monolithic structure and various colour shades, granite remains a popular material for creating cladding products.
Colour range of granite
Granite is divided into three main categories: polychrome, grey and red. However, other shades are also found in nature: blue, green, black, etc., which also belong to the polychrome group. Red granites with a homogeneous landscape pattern are the most commonly used for decorative design.
Tokivske deposit is a source of unique granite
One of the largest granite deposits in Ukraine is the Tokivske deposit, located in the Dnipro region. It produces granite under the trade name Carpazi. A state-of-the-art stone processing plant equipped with Italian equipment was built at the quarry. The plant is engaged in grinding, polishing and heat treatment of 30 mm slabs, as well as the manufacture of such products as:
- Countertops.
- Paving stones.
- Window sills.
- Border stones.
- The base tiles are "rock".
- Other decorative elements.
Composition and properties of Carpazi granite
Carpazi granite belongs to the second class of natural radiation materials, which allows it to be used in construction without restrictions. Its mineral composition includes:
- Quartz - 25%
- Microcline - 35%
- Biotite - 4%
- Plagioclase - 35%
- Other inclusions - 1%
Physical and mechanical characteristics:
- Bulk density: 2670 kg/m³
- Abrasion resistance: 0.26 g/cm²
- Bending strength: 19 MPa
- Compression strength: 225 MPa
- Water absorption: 0.55%
- Softening factor: 0,83
- Open porosity: 0.34%
- True porosity: 0.56%
Areas of application
Carpazi granite is used in many areas of construction:
- Facing of building facades and embankments - granite ensures durability and aesthetic appearance.
- Basement structures - Due to its low porosity, the material protects the building from moisture.
- Garden and park art - Fine-grained granite is ideal for creating sculptures and other decorative elements.
- Monumental buildings - Coarse-grained granite gives majesty to columns, pedestals and pedestals.
- Road construction - granite products, such as paving stones, curbs and other elements, have an original look and high durability.
Conclusion.
Granite from the Tokovsky deposit is a combination of natural beauty, unique physical and mechanical characteristics and wide range of applications. Thanks to modern processing technologies, it is an indispensable material in construction, architecture and art, remaining a symbol of reliability and durability.
